Matt Bozzone
Matt Bozzone has been playing drums for 21 years and currently lives in San Diego, CA. He grew up in New Jersey and started playing drums at the age of 14. He moved to San Diego, CA in 2010 and has been working full time as a drummer since then.
From 2011 - 2015, he toured throughout the U.S. with Todo Mundo, a world fusion band based in San Diego. Matt left Todo Mundo at the end of 2015 and in early 2016, he joined Elektric Voodoo, a 7 piece psychedelic afrobeat band led by Scott Tournet of Grace Potter & The Nocturnals. With Elektric Voodoo, Matt has toured all over the U.S. and recorded drums on their newest album Animal, which was released in October 2018.
In addition to his work with Elektric Voodoo, Matt has also been touring throughout the U.S. with Afrolicious, San Francisco based band that fuses afrobeat, funk, disco, and Latin styles. When he's not touring, Matt has steady local gigs with a rockabilly band and teaches drum lessons 1 day per week. He also freelances a lot and has played drums for numerous San Diego artists including The Moves Collective, Sister Speak, and Kiyoshi. Throughout his career, Matt has become comfortable playing a wide range of styles including afrobeat, funk, reggae, hip hop, rock, blues, cumbia, rockabilly, pop, and more.
